Catholic Social Thought Enters its Ecological Phase

 

 

"The concern for justice in society has a long history within the Catholic tradition originating in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, and continuing in the contemporary body of Catholic social teaching as found in papal and hierarchical documents, beginning with the encyclical [letter] of Pope Leo XIII entitled Rerum Novarum [On the Condition of Labor] and continuing to the present."*
