Earth Jurisprudence and a Sense of Place:
The South Florida / Everglades Bioregion

South Florida is home to the Everglades ecosystem and faces a broad set of challenges when it comes to ecological well being and ever-expanding human habitation. Earth jurisprudence reestablishes the harmony between humans and the natural world. Particular issues such as environmental refugees, access to water, global warming, energy alternatives, and locally grown food are addressed through a recognition of the balance needed between humans and the entire Earth community.

CEJ sponsors occasional outings into the Everglades. For a glimpse into one of these adventures, check out the Swamp Stomp and a daylong immersion trip, offered as part of a CEJ colloquium. Also spend some time with the links below to get to know this unique bioregion.
